10th World Congress of Semiotics 2009 (Spain)

Members of the Multimodal Analysis Lab team presented a Thematic Session titled Multimodal Semiotics in the Digital Age at the 10th World Congress of Semiotics 2009 in A Coruña Spain last 22-26 September 2009. The Congress commemorated the 40th Anniversary of the foundation of the International Association for Semiotic Studies/Association Internationale de Sémiotique (IASS/AIS), founded in Paris in 1969 by Roman Jakobson, André Martinet, Roland Barthes, Algirdas Julien Greimas and Umberto Eco, among others.  Please see preview programme which featured plenary speakers Nadine Gordimer, Orham Pamuk and Salman Rusdhie.
