Research Engineer (Software Development)

Job Description:

The Multimodal Analysis Lab in the Interactive Digital Media Institute (IDMI) at the National University of Singapore has immediate openings for Computer Scientists/Programmers to develop software tools for multimodal analysis and manipulation of multimedia data. The application software being developed will be similar to an application for editing text, pictures, sound, and video.

The successful applicants will have demonstrated knowledge, abilities and skills required to develop simple intuitive graphical user interfaces for manipulating, annotating, analysing and searching multimedia data.

Applicants must to be able to work in English-speaking interdisciplinary research team to design and develop flexible, extensible object-oriented code. Applications must address the selection criteria.

 

Requirements / Pre-requisites:

  • The candidate should have a BSc/MSc or equivalent in the field of computer science, especially software engineering.
  • Experience with developing GUI software in C++ on Qt development environment (Mandatory)
  • Experience with Windows/Mac operating systems.
  • The candidate should possess good communication skills in English, and be willing to work as part of an interdisciplinary research team.
  • Fresh graduates with strong programming skills in Qt are encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge of tcl/tk will be an added advantage.

Term of Appointment:

The appointment will commence immediately and the position will be for 1 year.

Job Description:

The successful applicant will have demonstrated knowledge,  abilities and skills required to design complex, rich media and intuitive graphical user interfaces for manipulating, annotating, analysing and searching multimedia data.  The applicant should also have experience in web design. Applicants must to be able to work in English-speaking interdisciplinary research team.

 

Requirements / Pre-requisites:

  • GUI design experience.
  • Web based design.
  • The candidate should possess good communication skills in English, and be willing to work as part of an interdisciplinary research team.

Term of Appointment:

The appointment can start immediately and the position will be for 6 months to 1 year.
